To me, “We the People” means the government gets power from citizens from people working together, showing every day citizens are the real boss of the country. It represents teamwork, everyone in the country united as one team, regardless of their differences. Betsy Ross helped physically shape the country’s early identity, making her part of “We the People”. I feel like I belong to America and my community because I’m welcomed and appreciated. My artwork connects to my idea about “We the People” because it shows a portrait of Betsy Ross, in which she sewed the first American flag. The American flag represents the people and the nation. I chose Betsy Ross because with her making the American flag, people know they belong to America and that they are united as one team under one nation.
