What “We the People” means to me is that everybody should be respected equally. Who I included in my idea of “We the People” is Martin Luther King and the Black people that wanted civil rights. What makes me feel that I belong to my community is that there are people from my culture. My artwork connects to my idea about “We the People” because Martin Luther King helped with the civil rights movement. People were facing discrimination and racism. MLK had a dream that racism and segregation were eradicated, and dreamed of equality and unity. He expanded the idea of who was included in those “people”. Therefore, “We the People” means to me that everybody should be respected equally.
