“We the People” means to me that people of any religious background, sexuality, and race can have a voice and a choice in today’s America. A group of people I think are still often left out are people with disabilities and those who may not have typical skills, because the way they communicate, look, or understand things is sometimes seen as different from what is considered “normal.” For my person in “We the People,” I chose Betsy Ross. I chose her because, during that time, after making the American flag and continuing to design for many years, she became a popular businesswoman along with her first husband. She’s a great inspiration for America and women.
